2015, Salem Art Works, Salem, NY.
The Short Cut was installed in Salem Art Works in New York City. It is a path that connects the welding bay to the dining table, in between the office building and the cribby of the SAW art commune. The path is a mosaic made with stones and ceramic tiles that are hand crafted and decorated by the members of SAW. It draws two lines that look like the Chinese letter for ‘person’ or ‘people,’ Ren(人). This path, The Short Cut, is intended to be part of the institution instead of a temporary display, thus embracing the idea of togetherness.
